Now Playing Grey’s Anatomy Theme Song 🎶Nobody knows where they might end up… Nobody knows🎶
Never knew I needed to read early seasons Greys but now I know. It was phenomenal. The significance of the elevators was hilarious. Including the punching scene was 😗👌🏽. The lack of third act break up was so appreciated, and so was the minimal conflict, absolutely loved that, and the mostly fluff-centric plot. Had me giggling and kicking my feet. Definitely reading the rest of the series.
- Now I have to go rewatch Greys Anatomy…again🫡

The characters are idiots. Literally risking their careers without thinking about the repercussions of their actions and being like “oh no we can totally keep this secret.” Like no it’s going to blow up in your face and I don’t want to read you cry about the consequences of your own actions

MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW

I would have rated this higher if it didn’t have an exact shot for shot, copy-paste of the original Derek Shepherd and Mark Sloan plot line in it with just slight deviations. I like Julie Saman but this was just so disappointing to read. Like the MMC literally gets cheated on by his wife with his best friend. He divorces his wife + moves away, him and FMC get involved, his ex-best friend comes to hospital where they work, meets FMC & flirts with her, MMC sees and punches ex-best friend. They eventually reconcile. Even other details like his ex wife getting her tubes tied is reminiscent of Addison getting an abortion after cheating with Mark…like come on. It’s not like Saman is a bad writer either, she’s always been consistent to me, so seeing a tv show knockoff is just jarring and frustrating

Other issues I have with this read was the incredibly insensitive r*pe jokes that came from characters we are supposed to see in a positive light, they are family members of our FMC, why are we acting like those kinds of jokes are:
1. In anyway a joke a mature adult would either make or laugh at
2. Socially, morally, ethically acceptable to make
3. Something normal to threaten to a semi stranger

Do better J. Saman.

Following that issue I had to put the book down for a day because I was so icked out by the scene. Outside of that though I felt this book had great banter and the dialogue between our main characters is good. The characters have great chemistry, main & ensemble, and the spice is PIPING hot!

⭐️⭐️.5
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

I am questioning if I will ever read a J. Saman book ever again though.
