I love Debbie Harry so I fully expected to enjoy this book either way. But I think this is genuinely well written, and Harry has a fabulous take on music, New York, gender, sexuality, gentrification, aging, and love.

Debbie Harry finds a way to stay lighthearted while describing some incredibly difficult topics that she faced throughout her career. While this book would likely be appreciated the most by fans of Blondie, I think there is enough of a variety of content that anybody would be able to enjoy it.

I liked maybe 2-3 chapters of this when she told stories about other musicians. I would start to like it, then she’d pop off some racist or conceited shit. She had at least 3 epilogues talking about her beauty and fan art.

I listened to her narrate the audiobook. I don’t think she knows how spoken language works. It picked up past the middle when she sounds drunk. This is the first audiobook that I hate-listened to.
