Dancing with Desire
If you love historical romances, want to try some new authors, and want a nice collection of books in one volume to begin a few series with books already written to read next…this book might be just the on for you. I haven’t finished every book in the anthology but do plan to over time and have a feeling I will reread a few of them, too.
With a baker’s dozen books collected to choose from it is like having thirteen donuts and not knowing which tempting treat to bite into first. I loved some and immediately started reading the next in the series. Did I have a favorite? Perhaps…always love Tracy Sumner’s books, thoroughly enjoyed Suzanna Medeiros’s book, Darcy Burke’s story was a bit lighter hearted, and Amy Quinton’s book that I am currently reading has a wicked aunt and cousin that could be related to Cinderella’s stepmother and daughters.
Did I like this book? Yes
Who would I recommend it to? Anyone interested in trying a new author or two…or three
NOTE: On many vendors the book is FREE so do check it out!
Thank you to BookSirens for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Dancing with Desire is an anthology with the first novel from various authors' series.
There are many stories I didn't enjoy and a rare few I did and I'll be happy to follow in the future. But overall I just really struggled to get through this. If you're an extremely dedicated regency reader who adores that kind of setting then this is for you. But if you're just generally into romance then holy COW this is an intensive long-term read. I had to stop and pick up books so I wouldn't set something on fire, not because the quality of the stories was bad (all the time) but because it was just really really hard for me to enjoy so much regency back to back.
I'm very happy to be done and if I ever try to pick up a genre anthology again?? Someone dissuade me.

A large anthology, the stories are bigger than novella size and tell a complete story. I'm giving it a middle of the road star because while the good stories were very good the bad ones were pretty bad. Some were happy & romantic while others were dark & dreary & the only thing they had in common is Christmas.

This book is a good introduction to the Duchess Society Series. I found it very sweet and touching romance. The heroine and hero are very special and show both their strengths and weaknesses through this story. I am looking forward to seeing these character is other books within the series.
Georgianna is my favourite kind of heroine – spunky, independent, caring, and willing to change her stance when love is involved. Dexter is a strong hero who knows what he wants and goes after it. This is a good second-chance romance – for two good friends who made the best choices they could at the time.
