The narrator of this is such a spectacularly specific kind of rich asshole, intellectualising everything and thinking himself a genius above all others, utterly obsessed with the idea the staff of the resort are deliberately manipulating the guests for nefarious purposes even though all they are doing is exactly what he and his fellow guests paid for: serving them. They’re doing nothing but maintaining the peace these people have paid for.
I wish it followed up on anything it set up. The length is to its detriment, the ending is abrupt and unsatisfying so I can’t fairly rate it highly.
