I liked the second book better than the first one because the start was faster. However, I found the middle slower. Less suspects, more timeline, I really liked that. The perspective from the podcast was fun. I feel like we saw in more depth the grow of the characters. I liked how everyone grew including Pip AND the relationship between Pip and Ravi

Wrapped up a bit too quickly, but I was sucked in from beginning to end. Just the kind of mystery I like.

“What do you do when the things that are supposed to protect you, fail you like that?”

Pip Fitz-Amobi is back. With the help of Ravi Singh, she released a true-crime podcast about the murder case they solved together last year. After all that happened, Pip’s been trying to get back to her normal, everyday life. But then someone close to her goes missing and a friend needs her help. When its clear the police aren’t going to get the job done, it means it’s up to Pip and her friends to save the day.

As someone who is not a particular lover of crime novels or YA thrillers, I was very surprised when I read A Good Girl's Guide to Murder back at the start of the year and was totally sucked in to the story. And I was surprised yet again when I started reading the sequel, and could not put the book down.

There is something about the writing that is seriously addictive. We have plenty of twists and turns, but I never felt overwhelmed or bombarded with information. It's dark, emotional and at points thought-provoking. The mystery is page-turningly good. It connects to the previous story, deals with the fallout of the investigation and clears up some questions that were left unanswered.

I loved the inclusion of photos, maps and podcast transcripts. All these details enhance the story and let the reader feel like they are following the investigation. Though it did suspect a certain character's involvement near the beginning, the conclusion was certainly not predictable, nor did I feel it came from nowhere.

I'll definitely be reading the next instalment.
