Good Girl Complex

The story was really sweet, I just didn’t love a lot of the dialogue in the beginning. The last quarter of the book saved it for me. Overall a decent romance read.

I'll admit that I did go back and forth over which brother she should have ended up with. Cooper was so heavy headed with the self deprecation that I began to believe it. Really, how does a strong entrepreneur get with the guy who turns out to be a dirty liar?

Although it's safe to say that the setting and various cliches made this book overall pretty fun for the first half, the self growth, that took over the last 150 pages of this book was not so fun. It was a critical part of the story that lacked luster and shine, preventing the end from truly standing out.

Okay….anyways

If I'm being honest, I picked this book because I liked the cover. But despite going into this book blind, I was very impressed! In the first chapter, Elle Kennedy's writing absolutely captivated me. The way she writes is relatable yet sophisticated, not revealing too little or too much. Even though this book was a bit longer, it felt like such an easy read. The characters were well-written and honest, without being overly cringey. The way the plot had evolved kept me on my toes and kept me interested. Overall, solid 4-4.5/5!

I love Elle Kennedy. She is one of my favorites and an immediate buy whenever she comes out with new books. Love her.

The chemistry. The build up. The tension. All of that was nonexistent in this book. I am so beyond disappointed. I really thought that this book would hit hard. Off campus and Briar U are just god tier reads and I was ready to jump into another college campus universe. I was so ready. I knew that this was gonna be my new favorite series. I was wrong. This book was so disappointing that I honestly don't really care or have any interest in what the follow up book is about. I don't know if it follows another couple or if it follows this same couple but I am in no rush to read it.

Cooper is supposed to be a bad boy and yet he gives me no bad boy energy. He has tattoos. Thats literally it. Mac is rich but you know she's not like other girls. This book gave me strong Outer banks vibes and I love outer banks.

I don't even really know what to say to explain what I didn't like about it. This book just felt so long and like nothing was happening at all. With Off Campus and Briar U, it just sucked you in and everyone was doing something that catered to the story. GGC just felt like a bunch of people standing around and doing random things that had nothing to do with anything. Everything just felt random. I am just so sad because I love Elle Kennedy. This book just wasn't it. I wouldn't even recommend it. It was just...bleh. I think this will move from one of my most anticipated reads of 2022 to my most disappointing.

I gave it 3 stars because I would maybe reread it and I didn't hate it but It is no where near as good as Kennedy's previous books. I think this proves that when you write such an amazing series as Off campus/ Briar U, it is HARD to follow up.

Mac was great female character, but I don’t love the cheating trope or revenge.

3.5 This was cute!!! I’m normally not one to go for romance books but I was in the mood for something light, fluffy, and maybe a little dumb or cheesy

not the best story, but it had some ok parts. not a fan of the lies that take place and idk if i would have ever forgiven the mmc.

If you loved After by Anna Todd then this is a book for you! Unfortunately it wasn’t my thing but it’s a fast read.

It’s giving John B, Sarah Cameron, and Topper vibes.
