Fun-ish read. Kind of like She's All That meets Gilmore Girls plus smut. Pretty much everything involving money doesn't make sense.

i will say something about this book, if you hate "After" by Anna Todd you'll hate this too, the relationship is basically based on a lie which i'm not very found of but even with all that i can't help but really enjoy the book, i love that it is set up on the beach, Evan is bae we love Evan. in all honesty of course it wouldn't be something you should tolerate in real life but that's the thing about books and fiction ITS NOT REAL LIFE

“Time to wipe up my smudged mascara and be a bad bitch. Fuck love. Build the empire.”

I was actually nervous going into this because I’ve seen 50/50 reviews about it but I actually really enjoyed it!
I love how McKenzie was her own person and even though she came from a wealthy family she still made her own money and proved herself and I definitely respect that.

I do feel awful for her because of what Cooper did, but as always you need a little drama in books

Oh the ultimate tatted bad boy from a small town!
You will find yourself wanting to punch pres in the face so many times, and feel part of the inner circle with the friendships in this book
I also really hope Wyatt finds his perfect girl cause boys so hung up on his ex poor guy
But it’s feel good make you warm and fuzzy with

3⭐

These characters were messy. Like, CW show messy

I would recommend this book to you if you like:
- The show OBX but with more of a love story
- The OC
- the trope where the man hatches a plan/makes a bet to seduce the girl and she eventually finds out
- good girl falls for the bad boy (hence OC and OBX references)

Disclaimers/Minor spoilers:
1. There is a lot cheating (emotional and physical), so if that is something you don't like (this is unfortunately why I didn't like the book) then I probably wouldn't recommend.
2. This book is NOT spicy like the Off Campus or Briar U books. This is pretty much closed door.

I'm a huge fan of the Briar U and Off Campus books. I binged all of them and regularly go back and read. The writing in this book was good like all of her books, this story just really was not for me. I will probably still read the next book in this series.

This is a hesitant 3 stars (I waa initially thinking 2.5); the book is about cheating as a grounds for a relationship, and even when the characters themselves frown upon the issue heavily, I think the cheating – when found out – should have been worked on more. The main characters are young, though, so you shouldn't expect too much emotional maturity from them. They are both still finding their place in the world and figuring things out, which gives them a little slack.

Both the main characters are flawed and doing things for the wrong reasons. The plot revolves around breaking up a relationship / cheating as a revenge, but that revenge plot turns into unexpected real feelings. The main characters Cooper and Mackenzie are not good people, even though they seem to make each other better by encouragement and emotional support when they are together.

Both the main characters have a tendency to avoid the hardest conversations and facing the truth, though, which creates the basis for the ultimate tension and
third act breakup
. I wish the issue was resolved with more groveling, self-improvement, and a longer heart-to-heart conversation, especially as the morality of cheating and lying has been a constant subject in the story.

I also wish the book continued a little further into the timeline and showed if they really could make their relationship work in the long run – if they can look past the revenge chesting plot. Now it feels like the characters are still looking at each other with rosy shades of lusty infatuation, and the real world might still be too much for them to stay together. Yet maybe that is what they deserve: a good-ish relationship on shitty grounds, or yet another breakup to break their hearts.
