These tiktok books are getting worse and worse. It was promising, but the last few chapters were the most ridiculous writing ive ever read. The characters took a 180 and werent acting the way the situation evoked.

Cute, funny, sexy and an easy read.
I enjoyed Mac and Cooper’s relationship. I loved that it wasn’t perfect. Real life is not perfect. I don’t care if some consider these relationships toxic. They felt real to me. Different life experiences, not truly aware of what they needed from each other, and the realization of growth and love.
I enjoy the side characters and honestly could have more of them. My only wish is that Mac had throat punched Preston at some point!

As always, another great read from Elle Kennedy. I can’t pick up one of her books without absolutely devouring it in a few days.
Cooper and Mac are like a ray of sunshine, even if he is the grumpy to her sunshine. Two characters from very different worlds - Cooper, the “loser townie” and Mac the rich, princess “clone” - somehow fall in love, despite all the odds stacked against them.
Even with the third-act breakup because Cooper’s lies come home to roost, they still manage to pull it together and find love.
Their story is continued in the second instalment of the Avalon Bay series - Evan and Gen’s story - so it’s nice to see where they end up in the future.
It may not be her signature hockey romance, but this book will not disappoint! All the spice you know and love and a cute rescue puppy as an added bonus!

3.5 ⭐️ was your typical rom com, nothing special but I enjoyed the setting and the main character being a girl boss.
It was okay, I don’t feel like it was great nor a waste of time. It was missing that lil something that would make me really connect with the MC’s. It felt like the pacing was rushed in some way, Mac quickly fell for Cooper in a way that didn’t feel realistic based on how she was set up as a character.
I really really enjoyed this book. It was such a nice read, and it felt fun and comforting to read. I like how the rich stereotype was both portrayed and challenged through different characters, as well as those who live in a small town, again showing stereotypes but also challenging them. As someone who lives in a small town, I could relate to the “townie” characters to some extent, but also found myself relating to the FMC which always helps.
I’d recommend reading this to anyone, and I cannot wait for my copy of the second book to arrive to read that too
