The characters of Knox and Avery were both likeable and engaging but I'm giving this 3 stars because it took the author until 90% of the book till Knox admitted he loved Avery and that he wanted to give their relationship a shot. And even while his realization was happening, a few pages before that, he was adamant their relationship was not going to work because of the circumstances of his new job so it came out as unrealistic to me. Would have been a solid 4 star book if that part of the story was handled better.

MINOR SPOILER/NOT REALLY A SPOILER BUT LIKE A VERY SHORT SCENE THAT I LOVED*

This is the first book that I’ve read from Rebecca, but I’ve been eyeing some of her other books for quite a while so I just knew I’d absolutely adore this book.
And I did.
I loved that there wasn’t anything like miscommunication or that they had the best happy end!

But I have to admit that my absolute favourite is Brogan, he’s my new spirit animal and I can’t wait to see what kind of book he gets!!!
Like bro literally kept changing the name of their group chat (and he had the best names!).

And this scene, "Hey." My buddy looks around at the place with wonder. "I can't believe how busy this place is. Hendrick must be thrilled." "He's in the back counting his piles of cash right now," Brogan says with a grin, like I swear I should marry him!!!!
Or all of the hashtags that he keeps using, like #unstoppable

This was such a fun book! I’ve had this series on my TBR for ages and I’m happy I’m finally diving in!! Knox and Avery’s relationship felt like it developed really realistically, and I loved how all of the minor characters came to life and how Rebecca wrote them!

If anyone has KU and needs a college sports romance, go grab this book!!

I read somewhere, someone say that the problem with some hetero books is that the author acts like it’s a given that the 2 mc’s end up together simply because they are a guy and a girl… this is the first time I’ve understood what that meant 🙃
