I loved the collection but HOLY CRAP, Cardan’s backstory is so much worse than I imagined, thank GOD his family is dead, except his mother … boo. He was given to a cat to raise all because some oracle said he was going to be King of Elfhame. Jesus. 

 

But onto more happy chapters. How he kept noticing Jude’s ears and the delicate curve of them makes me so insane. The fact he kept noticing things about her whilst denying his ever-growing attraction is … amazing. Denial is a river in Egypt.
