I read this because a Sara in my life recommended it to me. This book was simple and authentic much like the woman it was written about. This is a book I'll need for my personal collection.

Last fall I went to this exhibit at the Met and I've thought about it many many times since then.
Recently walking through Greenlight, I was notified Maira and Alex were making an appearance in a few days time. I arrived that evening to a Hershey's Kiss and a white notecard on my seat that said "She knew what she had."
Maira read the entire book to us and wrote "For Alexa" in the beginning of the book, in her quintessential writing--making the book look as if it was printed with that inscription included.
