A slice of life story that just happens to take place during an alien invasion/occupation.

A solid premise with a couple of young protagonists that I enjoyed following around. Will definitely carry on with volume 2.

This was a weird one. I'm very into the premise, because I love basically all media with a longterm alien invasion. The art was pretty unique. I just didn't like the writing very much. I found it very hard to follow. At the beginning, I was totally confused. I related to the main character's crush on her teacher, but I don't approve of the teacher asking her to be friends with benefits after graduation, joke or not (unclear in the book). The volume ends on an interesting cliffhanger, so I do think I will continue just to find out what happens.

Slice of life while in the background an alien starship hangs silently over Tokyo and humanity fights back. That could be the setting for zany shenanigans and comedy but DeDeDeDe is instead slow, characterful and filled with a deep foreboding that something is terribly wrong, no matter how some try to carry on as normal. Interesting, I’ll definitely look for more to read.

I love how simple the story is, especially since it focuses on characters and their interactions while also having a plot in the background.

This was a little slow but I loved the characters and it does seem like it's going places so I'm going to give the next one a try.

This was definitely quirky and weird, which is what I totally expected it to be. It was a little hard to follow at times, but it became easier to understand as the volume went on. The art was amazing and as detailed as always from Inio Asano! The cliffhanger was pretty crazy too! I can't wait for the next volume!
