Prince Phillip has been dreaming of an unknown girl all his life, annoyed that he can't even rest in his sleep. He chaffs against the role he was born into, betrothed to a baby, their choices and wants unheard. He wants to spend his last few weeks of freedom to be just that, freedom before being shackled to a princess as her protector against Maleficent. But what if his fate wasn't what he always thought it was? With the chance of having magic, he might be the hero.

I enjoyed reading this take on Sleeping Beauty. I was a little thrown off with Prince Phillip having magic, but I was excited when I realized the twist before it happened. I loved how it turned the love at first sight troupe on its head, with Phillip and Aurora falling in love through their dreams. I like how it gave Phillip a personality, since the older Disney movies had such short run times, and not a lot of time on character development.

I have never really been a big fan of Sleeping Beauty, so I was hesitant to read this. But considering how much I enjoyed Prince of Song & Sea, I knew I had to at least give this one a try. I am so glad I did!

Linsey has successfully taken popular/classic stories and written them from a different perspective: the male main character/love interest. And I loved every second of it!

The only problem I had was the constant use of Aurora's whole pseudonym Briar Rose every single time someone, namely Phillip, mentioned her. At some point, her name is used 4 times in a single paragraph! But that's not enough to dull my love for the story as a whole.

Now to wait (not so) patiently for Prince Charming's book!!

I liked this a lot better than I thought I would. Phillip and Aurora/ Briar Rose were super cutesy, they had like a enemies to lovers arch. So they can visit each other in their dreams, and they can listen in on each other's lives. But they never got along or talked to each other, and then they like fall in love and its soo cute. Phillip is a lowkey jerk at the start but he has character development

I feel very similar to this book as I do the Prince Eric one: the new characters and plot are interesting and fun, but slightly held back by staying too close to the source material in some parts. I do think this book is a bit more predictable than the Prince Eric one, but it is still generally enjoyable! Both are great reads for fairytale fans, Disney fans, or someone just looking for a fun popcorn read that can be finished in a day.

This book was amazing it added so much to the original story and it is my favorite classic
Disney Princess movie everything made more sense. I loved the characters so much especially Phillip and Briar Rose they both were developed much better their love story was more natural. I loved how Phillip's character was expanded on with how he felt about never meeting his father's expectations and how both him and Briar Rose were only extensions of their parents I really love how the change of this comes along. I loved how Phillip comes into himself fully by the end. I loved how Briar Rose is more than just a princess to be saved she is a girl that is lonely and wants to explore many places. I loved how well they knew each other before falling in love it was a gradual process. The story is amazing it starts like the animated film but diverges after the prologue with a better developed Phillip and Briar Rose and there are many great things added to the story that made for a very good read.
