Ugh… the emotions!! I went into this fully expecting a vanilla, low-stakes read—I was prepared for soft and simple. Um, nope. What I got instead was a story that grabbed me. There were definitely some steamy scenes (whew), but the way they were written—so intimate, so emotionally charged—it wasn’t just sexy, it was felt. Deeply.
I instantly fell in love with Archer and his journey. He’s the kind of character that latches onto your heart and doesn’t let go. One page had me wanting to chuck the book across the room (I didn’t—I respect the spine too much), and the very next page had me crying.
This was my first Mia Sheridan book, but it’s absolutely not my last. She got me good. I’m emotionally ruined in the best way.
