*rolls eyes* I can't believe Hollywood is wasting their time making this into a movie.

All in all, this saga has driven me crazy. However, I find it quite dragging in the first few chapters (honestly, just had the page turner moments right in the middle of the 1st book) And yes, I almost did not finish it.

But, after the dragging chapters, I cannot drop this book and has jumped right into book 2 - 5. So yes, 4 stars!

There really needed to be some deeper relationship building as we never learn why Luce loves Daniel. But the setting is very clear to visualize and atmospheric

I actually thought this story was different and intriguing. It isn't a masterpiece of literary fiction, but I wasn't expecting that either. The story was original and quite a page turner. I will be reading the rest of the series to see how the characters & the story evolve.

Real rating: 4.5, though I suppose I rounded up.

It was a nice little story. I liked all the characters. I liked the story. It was captivating enough to make me go and buy Torment before I was even finished.

Sad thing...I liked Cam. I thought he was going to turn out to be the poor nice guy whose heart gets broken. Sad day. I still like him, though, even though he's apparently an evil douche. Ah well.

My only issue was how it ended. It was far too open ended for the beginning of a series, IMO. But whatevs. At least I have the sequel in hand.

EDIT AS OF APRIL 25, 2011
Down to three stars, because the more I think about this book, the more and more I dislike it. Ah well.
