Mildly amusing, but not quite bossypants level funny.
I have no idea how I found this book but I’m glad I did This book is laugh out loud funny. The author is brutally candid and it is hilarious. He made me laugh out loud talking about working at a grocery store and pretending to be sick so he didn’t have to go to school. A wonderful collection of short essays. Loved it!
Finished this book in 2 days. I loved it immediately! Gary is hilarious, and his love for soap operas and reminiscing about them is the joy I never realized I needed.
I loved this but It was just SO short. I’d have liked to have heard more that he had to say.
I laughed. I cried. It was better than CATS (actually, no, because I will always love CATS). I really enjoyed Janetti’s wit and ability to recall painful experiences through a comedic lens, a quality I possess at times and envy in others always. Each essay is authentic and vulnerable and has at least one zinger that made me laugh out loud. Really fun. Really gay. Totally my brand.

I mean - was it the best book I ever read? No. But it also wasn’t meant to be a Pulitzer Prize winner. I expected funnier somehow but still it was fun and light to read between starting a new series of books.
Absolutely HYSTERICAL!! Highly recommend the audio version as Gary reads it.
