This was a fun, quick read. Wish there was even 1 mention of his hilarious Instagram account & his obsession with Prince George.
A fun trip through Janetti's hysterical thought processes. He takes overthinking to new levels and we benefit. If you aren't following his Instagram account you are missing out on loads of sarcasm.
A very quick and fun memoir. I picked it up randomly from the library and was happy to have it accompany me (by audiobook) while I did chores, drove, and cooked this summer. I went into it without knowing who Gary Janetti is, (honestly I thought he was someone else - an actor), but I was happy to get to know him once I was in his world. I loved the chapters about his childhood watching soap operas and his young adulthood working at a hotel. If I had read the blurb about the book before getting it I think I would have been turned off by the concept of a book of essays about annoying things (sounds annoying tbh), but luckily it was less complain-y and more fun/funny.
Gary Janetti is a gift we don't deserve. This was fantastic. Funny and heartwarming!
I had high hopes for this book but instead of being funny it was winey and the author came across as self-absorbed.
I laughed at the first few chapters, I chuckled at the following, but by the end, I just wanted it to be over.
So many laugh out loud parts in the audiobook, and the ending was sweet and sad. Overall, I wish it was longer because Gary has a great way of making even mundane stories funny. The only negative is that Gary's style of speaking in the audiobook was sort of robotic and weird.
I think this book was for fans of Gary Janetti. I had never heard of him before and was just hoping for a humorous book.
