I didn't know I could enjoy monster romances until now.

First act of the book is scorching hot, no plot other than introducing the main characters in very scandalous ways. Eventually we get some plot that puts Esther in danger so her harem ahve to band together to protect her.
I love how Kathyrn Moon portrays FMC in very empowering ways. Esther is experienced and doesn't hestiate to go after what she wants. I'd love to see more of this in romance books!

So, this was the first ever why-choose I actually liked and it just figures it'd be monster p*rn.

This book wasn't entirely what I expected tbh. I read the blurb (for once), I might have read the tags, but by the time I got around to reading it I forgot what they were, so I was a bit blindsided by the amount of sex and a gallery of supernatural sexual partners when I was expecting some light mystery and steamy romance. Not complaining though! The girl really do be living a dream.

I liked the FMC, she was quite shameless but could also enforce her boundaries without being bratty. Non-sexual boundaries that is, I don't think she had much of those in terms of sex heh. I liked all the men too, they had distinct personalities, botomless pockets, monster d*cks and worshipped the ground the FMC walked on - what's not to like. There was even some MM in between all that MMMFMM, just a tiny bit, don't get too excited.

On the other hand, I wish there was more plot. What little there was, I liked, and some happenings started happening past 60% mark. The lack of buildup diminished my enjoyment of the early sex parts though. They were a bit dry without the emotional lubrication~

The way the book ended makes me hopeful for more plot in the next installments, even though they seem to be focused on different main characters.

Is there a lot of spice in this book? Absolutely. Luckily for us, it also includes a fascinating world and fantastic plot and cast of characters. If you don’t like high spice books, the plot will likely be lost in the sea of smutty delights BUT the plot is truly interesting and just complex enough to keep you interested but not so complex you’re bogged down in a more complicated book (it’s not a simplistic book, I mean more that some books take more concentration to remember all the details and complicated world building, and I’m not always in the mood for that.)

Now, am I huge Kathryn Moon fan in general? Absolutely. I love her characters, I love the bigger picture she has us thinking about and questioning in every book she writes, no matter how smutty the book is, she manages depth to at least a singular topic, if not more, and I think that takes talent.

Lola and the Millionaires is my threshold for a 5⭐️, and that’s one of my fav books of all time, in general, so it’s stiff competition so a 4.5 is hella good!
