I find this one really hard to talk about. There were parts I loved and then other parts that felt like a real punish. The descriptive language is awesome but there are chunks of the book where it seems to really bog down the story. At a certain point I was firm that I was going to end up hating it but then the very last third sort of redeemed it for me and overall I enjoyed it.
This is among the strangest books I’ve ever read. I enjoyed it — reminded me of a mashup of horror and Mean Girls.

The amount of times I almost dnf'd this book simply because it felt like I was experiencing a fever dream in the worst possible way. I would just come out of this book like what, and start seeing shapes and colours. There were parts I liked, and at the end I understand the premise, and what Mona was trying to get at...
However.... wtf was this book....

I believe this story discusses the desperate want to be noticed and to join the upper class. We see Samantha’s desperation beginning with hatred towards the bunnies but it slowly turns into self-hatred at the fact that she enjoys their care and attention, even though it remains conditional no matter what she does to please. At least, that’s how i tried to make sense of such a weirdly written book. It was written the same way a modern painter throws random colours on a canvas and leaves the understanding to the discretion of the confused viewer.

What a wild ride. I still don’t think I know what tf happened and I ain’t mad about it. I love realizing there are unreliable characters narratives and then looking back and being like “wait a damn minute” This book lives up to its praise imo. Highly recommend it, Bunny. It’s all the rage Bunny.
