Incredibly original. Very unique premise. And the writing was absolutely admirable - descriptive, immersive, engaging. I just didn’t find myself all that excited to read it. Even when it was getting good - I was pretty meh on it. I think I just craved a stronger plot.

Hateful and deeply unlikeable characters. The first person narration limits the scope of the story and hinders the author by restraining her from criticizing the protagonist's actions and morals. It is a fun and fast read--and that's the best that can be said about it. If someone's to tell me I was too dumb to understand the thematic threads of the story (about indifference, about the contrast between animal sacrifice and anthropomorphization and love) I would say "yes" just to stop the convo in its tracks.
the kind o book that tugs you in IMMEDIATELY, and if it does not, then it’s not the kind of book for you. loved the humor, loved how surprising the whole plot was, amazing character work
