Cassandra & Apollo were really nice mc's and I loved reading about another decent member of the 13 but the pacing didn't really work for me, sadly. The murder (mystery?) element was fun but also a bit predictable — didn't expect their secret ally though 🤫 Really hot sex, much more in the Neon Gods style with a BDSM focus — loved that!! This felt a bit filler-y, especially because Minos & his people were already introduced in the last book but it seems we're really getting into it now!

Another hit in the Dark Olympus series. I love the fact that Cassandra and Apollo both are unaware of how much they like each other, and the dinner party murder mystery of it all is just excellent. I appreciated how aware Apollo was of the fact that if he was to succeed he'd need Cassandra's help, and that even when he thought he didn't need it he'd still relent and let her help - he wouldn't push her away.

This was incredibly cute and incredibly spicy.

I appreciate what Katee Robert was trying to do with having the plot of this story be directly tied to the plot of Wicked Beauty, and essentially giving the whole Dark Olympus series it’s own overarching plot. I wasn’t expecting that since the first 3 books could be read as standalones. I mean there are some plot points and character relationships that do get referenced between those first 3 books, but overall you don’t have to read them in any particular order in order to follow the story, whereas with this book you actually do have to read Wicked Beauty in order for the whole “investigate this new family in town and their party” plot to really make sense.

In terms of the story in this book, I would say it’s pretty average. Nothing in particular was really wrong with it, but I wasn’t exactly invested in the story, or Apollo and Cassandra’s relationship. Cassandra has such a strong personality and idk if that just made Apollo feel boring in my eyes or what, but overall I would place this book on the same level or only slightly below Wicked Beauty. Electric Idol still reigns supreme as the best book with the best relationship (Psyche and Eros 💖) in this series so far!

Eh. It’s no where near as good as Neon Gods, but it’s still good. I like a good mystery as much as the next reader, especially when it takes on a Clue plot.

I wish there was more character development behind Cassandra and Apollo, at least more than insta-love.
