This book is more fiction than romance, which is fine, but it ended up leaving the romance a little underbaked.
I enjoyed the last 25-50% of this book a lot! The beginning was just trudging through Catherine’s uptight thoughts that left me feeling stressed. It took a long time for her to turn it around.
The exploration of the meaning of family and what is important in life made this book feel good. All of the supporting characters were wonderful and I would’ve loved more of them.
The magical realism element would’ve been better if there was more of it or maybe just mentioned more throughout the book instead of mostly at the end.
Overall enjoyable read and appreciated the message of the story!
