i cheated and skipped over more than 50 percent of the story ∵ it was starting to feel like i was reading about every. single. detail. of. every. single. day. did i really need to know every step of katherine's life? weird thing tho is that even tho, based on the events of the story alone, this would definitely count as fast-paced ∵ one thing happens after another. but the general feel was a snail's pace.

i did get a little emotional tho about the plot twist with The morelli. you know who i mean. that was really sweet

narrator did a great job too

It was fine. There were some parts I didn’t love, but also some I did. Honestly I don’t think Luca and Catherine should’ve ended up together. I just don’t think they’re a great fit. I don’t really have much to say, I liked the idea, but the execution could’ve been better. Some parts made me cringe a little.

Disappointing overall. I really loved The Second Chance Year and was excited for this book, but this ultimately fell flat for me. Like a lot of other reviews I’ve read, I felt like Luca was underdeveloped. Catherine’s character arc also felt underdeveloped, and I think she really needed therapy to work through her control issues from childhood. Also, she forgave her father far too easily in the end, and it was weird how insistent he was about not telling her about her mother, and his reasoning in the end is incredibly irritating. We’re meant to believe that it was a good reason for him to basically let his daughter’s life fall to pieces? I felt like the romance had no build up. I was hoping this would be a new auto-read author for me, like Ashley Poston and Emily Henry are, and I’m willing to give her another chance, but I’m very disappointed in how this book panned out. Also, this is petty, but as someone named Katherine, the way the audiobook had some of the characters pronounce the name really annoyed me.
