Dang, Laurel Hightower sure knows how to pack a lot of punch in a small book! I absolutely loved it because the character development was so good in just over 100 pages, it was frightening the entire time, and it was quite emotional. Definitely an awesome read!

Idk... everyone says how gut wrenching this is, but I wasn't feeling it? Horror about grief always intrigues me because it's the most mind-boggling and heartbreaking emotion I've ever experienced but I can't ever connect to it in book form.
The beginning started off strong and eerie but I slowly lost interest as the story progressed and it's only 100 pages. The average rating is a 4.04 though, so clearly I'm missing something. Overall, I'm mostly indifferent towards this.

This is why I love fiction. If this was a movie I wouldn't hesitate to call it a horror (especially considering the very last scene).
An exploration of a mother's grief. It made me cry, and at times it put a small smile on my face.

I find that grief horror is what speaks to me the most, especially in cases that I can relate it. It's almost like a release, somewhere that people can read their darkest and deepest thoughts. I loved this, as gruesome and heart breaking as it is.
