Not sure why everyone considers this a horror book as it’s definitely not and focuses more on the sad reality of grief and loss with an added paranormal aspect. Very nice, quick read. Liked all of the characters and some of the grittier parts in this book, along with the overarching theme of grief and cycle breaking. Would’ve liked a different ending and a bit more depth, but would still recommend.

This got a very low 3 stars from me.
I think it is a beautifully written book on one woman's experience with the grief and trauma of losing their son. Like words can't express how well written I think this is.
But just for my personal taste, I found my self bored throughout the story I wanted just a little more entertainment value within it. It is a very heavy handed grief horror and with that comes a whole lot of triggers.
I would still recommend, specifically to fans of grief horror, which tends to be a hit or miss sub genre for me.

This was an interesting take on motherhood and sacrificing as a parent. It's short enough to be a quick read, but has some fairly gory parts to it as Chris deals with seeing the sceptre of her dead son and tries to tether him to the world of the living. Fun, creepy, and intense.
