I dearly love the author's command: "Never neglect your own soul".(86) Me, I think of poetry being the culture of the soul, of your own deepest self connecting you to the divine, and there are quite a lot of things in this book that try to teach how to connect to that. "Oh, if a man had a spark of true love in his heart, he would know for certain that all earthly things are full of vanity."(38) How spiritual, how deep and pure. A single spark! And then all earthly things would lose meaning, and regain them only directed towards love.
