Holy heck. Hard to read but hard to put down. Car crash in slow motion kinda fascinating/horrifying. She ate, etc.

This book is absolutely not what I expected it to be, the blurb from my local library did not remotely indicate what this was about. I'm giving it a 3.75 because I have no clue what to rate it.

It's well-written and very heavy but I just feel so disorientated after finishing it, wow. The book has some genuine insight at times and is able to strip away some of the normalizing lens that we apply on social expectations in order to criticize these norms, but the protagonist and plot are so odd that it's hard to say whether it's effective messaging.

I don't have any personal triggers but I wish I had checked them beforehand for this book just so I had a better idea of what I was getting in to

Definitely weird, but not as weird and disturbing as some people make it out as.
I saw a review that described this booked as the consequences of untreated childhood trauma, and it’s exactly that.
I really enjoyed it but the cannibalism in the end kinda of took me out.
