4 stars. Quickie review: This was another great book in this series! I am sad to see it end. Kathryn Nolan's writing is so good! There is amazing chemistry and sweet, sexy, romantic couple. I adored Abe and Sloane together. They were great characters and there was no pushing away. I did want some "I love you"s before the epilogue, but still, this was really good.

An ex FBI agent hunting an infamous book thief plays a cat and mouse game with his beautiful rival. I've been saving this book and it was every bit as wonderful as I'd hoped for. It was so good to see the walls of rigid, broody but also devastatingly sexy Abe (who had my heart since book 1) crumbling under the tenacity of spunky and vivacious Sloane.
The sexual tension between them is off the charts, with definite fire and sparks, and the way they push and challenge each other is hot as hell.
They both hide their loneliness under their strong personalities, and the way they allow themselves to be vulnerable with each other really tugged at my heartstrings. I loved the way Nolan weaved love and passion in their romance, and the steam is explosive. Abe's dominance when he lets loose is definitely hot! 🥵 Loved the sweet moments, too. The suspense is a lot of fun, and the Codex gang awesome.

This was a great series and In The Clear in particular was a very satisfying conclusion and tie up to everything we know about CODEX. I loved seeing this more playful side to Abe. Nolan has quickly become one of my go-to authors and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
I waited a few days before I could post my review. The book hangover from the final Codex book is one hell of a doozy. Abe is, well I'm not sure if there are words invented in the English Language yet that can describe Abe, other than he's is one hell of an Alpha. I enjoyed the Cat and Mouse of Abe and Sloane in the beginning. Of course you get a good amount of Freya, Sam, Delilah, and Henry. It was great having everyone back again. This book was a great last book in the series. The Codex books are timeless and will be great to reread for many years to come

I really enjoyed the entire Codex trilogy, but IN THE CLEAR was my favorite of the bunch. I really appreciate when the author wraps up a series in such a satisfying and entertaining way.
Now, this is age gap romance done right! Gone are the days of a 18 and a half day old heroine getting with 33 year old weirdo CEOs. This is what I want more of, 25+ y/o kick ass heroines getting it on with hot salt and pepper'ed workaholics that are immediately and unequivocally smitten to the point of near insanity. Ahoy, Captain, I've spotted land!

Abraham finally gets his whale! Abe has been searching for Bernard Allerton, a criminal mastermind who steals priceless book artifacts. He has been on his tail for 10 long years. While on vacation, one he finally takes to London to search for Bernard, he teams up with a PI Sloan Argento. She was hired by the Library in Oxford where Bernard worked.
Neither of these 2 PI’s want to work together, but they find out quickly that in order to catch Bernard they will have to join teams and work together. While they chase down Bernard’s location, the sparks between these 2 fly and egnite! STEAMY!
Kathryn Nolan finished the CODEX series with a bang! She creates a mystery and knows how to write a great ending to it. I am sad to see the series ending, but she did justice to Abe by giving him a strong partner.
