I just recently discovered VE Schwab and am a HUGE fan!
This sneak peak has me HOOKED to listen to / read the whole story. I very much enjoyed the narrators and their cadence. It was a pleasant listening experience.
Thank you NetGalley for providing this sneak peek!

A truly evil thing to give me this sneak peek and leave me starving for the rest of it, but huge thank you to netgalley for offering this special torture.
Already this book is sexy and haunting. VE Schwab is a master of craft and every title of theirs I read proves they have incredible range. Bury Our Bones grabs your attention and then slowly reels you in completely. This one feels comparable to Addie Larue in voice and tone, but the three different women are already bringing something huge to the story, they all feel unique from each other and have compelling stories. I can't wait to read the rest of this and see them all come together.

Thank you Netgalley for this fun preview
Schwab is an intsa-buy author and I am super excited for this book. I had an audiobook preview and I cannot wait to read it.
So far, I find our two leads quite compelling, and the narrators are doing a phenomenal job bringing them to life.

I had a sneak peek at the audiobook read by Julia Whelan, Kate Leung and Marisa Calin who are excellent.
I absolutely loved the sample it must have been about 2 hours which became a problem for me.
I think I’d rather have had the whole book on NetGalley or nothing. I feel that the sample is too long, I’ll have to listen to it all again if I manage to get it from the library as I will have forgotten the storyline by then.
For those who love this author I’m sure that you won’t be disappointed by this book.
I’ve rated on what I’ve listened too and the books potential.

Holy Addie LaRue!!!
The vibes, the flow, the poetic prose.
V.E. Schwab has captured and enthralled me all over again.
I almost forgot that I listened to Addie LaRue until I heard the narrator and it just took me back to the magic of experiencing Addie for the first time. The other narrators and their accents complimented her (the former Addie narrator) perfectly too.
We rotate through a different woman in each chapter. Each woman lives in a different time period and has her own difficult things to deal with. There are some schemes and some struggles and varying factors for each woman.
I'm so invested in this but also kicking myself for allowing myself to get invested without being able to read/listen to the rest of the book.
This book is going to be magic, I just know it.

This was such an engaging sneak peek into what is to come in the full novel! I believe the file includes the first 12 chapters and I cannot wait to find out what happens next. The narrators for each POV character were great and really brough their unique flair to the women. I can’t wait to read the full story!

Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the audioARC in exchange for an honest review.
I’m not going to do a full review of this book here, just know I cannot wait for the rest. I’ll wait until I read it in its entirety after it comes out. Since I received this sneak peek as an audiobook, I’ll just review that aspect of it.
I’ll definitely be listening to the full audiobook when it comes out.
This book has three narrators. Julia Whelan, who narrated the audiobook for The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, narrates Maria’s chapters in the book. Marisa Calin, who narrated Tes’s chapters in The Fragile Threads of Power, narrates Lottie’s chapters. And finally Katie Leung, who voiced Cait in Arcane, narrates Alice’s chapters. All three have great credentials as in voice work, which makes sense given this is a V.E. Schwab novel, so the publishers are willing to shell out for a really good audiobook. You love to see it.
All three readers read well. They were all clear and I didn’t have any trouble following them, but it wasn’t dry. It really felt like someone was reading me a story. I love that they all have different accents! I feel like it added to the story a lot. I liked the way all three of them read, but I think I liked Katie Leung’s reading the best. She’s a very warm reader, which is my favorite type.
“Shall we stay out here or are you planning to invite me in?”
I should have waited…cause now I have to wait…but I couldn’t wait! Absolutely fantastic teaser sneak peek! So excited to continue the story.

This sample of the story feels ominous, dark and brooding. I was most interested in Maria in the 1500's, and I wanted to swoop in there and rescue her from that man who was her husband.
