A bit of a slow burn in the beginning, and the preachifying -- while I guess necessary -- was exhausting to read. Ultimately an incredibly written book, and the last 25% was gripping.

there is not a single tolerable character in this whole mf thing. and i do not even care that that is the point, i was so consistently pissed off at everyone being insufferable the whole time i was reading that i couldn’t have enjoyed the book if i tried. i appreciate the sentiment but i really could not wait to be done with this

Starts as a slow burn and rises to a fever pitch. Shocking climax. Highly recommend, although it’s a bit tough to see where it’s going at the start or why we should care about a cast of unlikable characters.

After a Slow start full of character development, I almost DNF. About midway through, the tempo changes and it’s a real page turner.
