Ooh I loved this one you guys! Single dad? Forced proximity? Grumpy x sunshine? Yeah, I knew this one was going to be a good read. What I didn’t expect? For it to make me so emotional. My heart broke so much with Rafa and Nico’s relationship. They were trying so hard to be strong for one another and by doing so, they were hurting each other. And Ellie? I loved her. The patience she had with Nico and the bond they shared was precious. Then we have Ellie and Rafa’s relationship. I loved the chemistry between these two. They were such a slow burn and the banter was great. I also really loved their growth and how vulnerable they got with each other.

The only thing keeping me from giving this one a full five stars is how long it was.

I lost count of how many times this book made me cry. Whether it was tears of joy or sadness, the connection I felt to both Raphael and Ellie was immense. Lauren Asher has crafted a love story that heals the trauma of these characters, showcases the power of love and family, while simultaneously giving us a slow burn that’s absolutely worth the wait. I have read books with slow burns before that either felt like torture or the author was dragging things out unnecessarily. Love Unwritten, is neither of those things. I think this was the first time I truly appreciated the character development that took place alongside the slow burn. I also enjoyed the single-dad struggling to reconnect with his son, while learning to deal with his own trauma in order to become a better role model for his son. Ellie’s story resonated with me in a way that I haven’t experienced in a modern day romance story for a long time, if ever. The Lakefront Billionaires trilogy is rapidly becoming my favorite Lauren Asher series yet, and I can’t wait to spend more time on the shores of Lake Wisteria!

i adored this book, especially bc it got me out of a reading slump. it definitely helped remind me why i love to read so much. getting to walk in someone else’s shoes through a story is the best feeling. not to mention the cuteness of the couple. their relationship wasn’t overly sappy which made it feel so realistic.

I got to say, I enjoyed this one way more than I did the first one, and its all thanks to Ellie! She was a phenomenal FMC, with great communication skills and a story of strength. Rafael was a great lead too, a mmc that went through a lot, and while FAR FROM PERFECT (because my dude...you gave me emotional whiplash for a minute there), was willing to learn and grow along the way. While annoying, I do appreciate that the characters made mistakes DESPITE being in a path of growth, because that made feel real. I loved Nico, and he is just a great kid overall. I DO WISH we had more closure with Nico's mom. OH I ALMOST FORGOT one of my main issues....WHY THE HECK THIS BOOK IS 600 PAGES LONG...make them shorter Lauren, I swear it's ok!
