I absolutely love novels in verse--there's something about them that just make reading so much smoother.
Sarah Crossan is such a talented author, I can't believe that I've never read her before and that it took me so long to get to this book!
Once I started this one, I really had a difficult time putting it down. What an amazing story with amazing characters!
I'm not sure if it's the way the story was told or just the story, itself, but this was an emotionally moving book that I will be sure to read again.

love love loved this one. made me think of my boppa and how i wish id spent more time with him. sweet sweet if a little sad story. verse was very well done and a great medium for this story!
that was just so frickin nice. so sweet, sad, and hopeful. I loved it!
Initially sceptical about the layout and structure of the writing I was quickly drawn in. A light and powerful use of words created full and complete characters and situations.

this was so sadddddd :( but also kinda hopeful? but wow, this definitely tugged at my heartstrings!
trigger warnings: loss of a parent (in the past), domestic abuse and violence, dementia, homelessness, sexual harassment from a random creepy dude, drugs and alcohol, shitty friends, being attacked by a dog, mention of dog being put down, animal death (wild bird and pet goldfish).
