It was too disturbing for my taste. Too many spicy scenes. Did like the plot.

When a book starts with a trigger warning list that ends with "your mental health matters" I know it's going to be a ride. This was a lot... I think people need to stop comparing this to Haunting Adaline. They only thing that is similar is that it's a stalker romance.
I really enjoyed this book but it is a very intense book with heavy themes and that's just not for everyone.
I liked the FMC and MMC. Aero really steals the show so to speak. He is completely unhinged and honestly I was unsure if he was going to actually hurt Briony or not . His character had a lot of depth and backstory (which is tragic) and you can absolutely understand why he is they way he is. Briony doesn't just roll over, she is strong willed and puts up a fight against Aero and then later with him. I liked the overall plot of the book and it has some twists and turns.

The spice was 5 chili peppers. Lots of kinks, check your trigger warnings for this one.

I originally gave it 4 stars because degradation is not a kink I enjoy especially in larges doses. Also I know this book is centered around a corrupt church but the scene involving Saint and the crucifix and the upside down cross that gets carved ... I didn't feel were necessary for the plot and were just to disrespectful for me.

Joe Arden and Desiree Ketchum are the reason I bumped this up to 4.5 stars. Their performances were spectacular. I now understand the hype around Joe's narrations. He managed to sound scary and unhinged while simultaneously incredibly sexy. I don't think many voice actors could have pulled that off.

I do recommend this book if you like dark romance, especially the audio version.

Didn't do it for me, I was looking for an fun-easy read but this one drag so much. I found the MMC being so repetitive with the same monologue, the SMUT was ok but didn't save the book . At the end I was just happy to finish the book so I can move to a new and better one.

That epilogue was
