I would have read this so much faster if this wasn't a buddy read.

Cause Aero???? He has my heart! I don't think I could ever get enough of this fictional man.
He had me questioning my morals and I am okay with that...
The things he does for his women as he tries to take down the family that exiled him???
I mean, yeah, he manipulated and hurt her... but she got on his level real quick..

No complaints. I love it. I see a re-read in my future soon.

Demeaning, misogynistic, “waited for her to turn 18”

I’m sorry, but there is NO COMPARISON between HA and TSL. They aren’t even on the same level. TSL is on a whole new level.
Jescie knew every bit of what she was doing with this book. This book had me not wanting to stop reading. And then when it got to the last 12 chapters I DRUG IT OUT because I didn’t want it to end. All of the emotions, all of the twists and turns. Fuck it was amazing. This is a wild ride, I’d love to be on non stop.
Please give me more of their future. I must have it.

This was wild.

This book was incredibly dark but I loved it. The audiobook was incredibly well done and really brought the characters to life. I'm super curious to read Jescie's other books to see how they compare.

I cannot stress this enough. This book tackles topics that are extremely dark and will be triggering for a lot of people. Nothing is held back.

The writing was good. The characters were exciting. If any of these characters approached me in real life, straight to the police (that's how you know it was a good dark romance. Lots of illegal and questionable acts).

The ending was satisfying and I think if you like dark romance and not a lot triggers you, then give this a go. Like Haunting Adeline but better.

Why did I take so long to read this? I LOVED THIS. Every now and then I love a good stalker romance and this book was IT! I always have a deep fascination of religious trauma in romances. I don't know what that says about me, but I really enjoy them.

You have Briony, who is an innocent, church-going girl, and Aero, who is as morally grey as you can get! He is like her shadow and his unhinged self has been stalking her forever. Originally, he stalked her to exact revenge on people that have wronged him, but he ends up becoming her protector and savior. I loved seeing how he helped her get over her religious trauma.

The character development was excellent and I thought the plot was great! I was hooked from the very beginning. The book is well written and super fast-paced and enjoyable!

I thought this book was pretty good but also fucked up…

Aero what he went through as a child is no foul.. the bishop raping him for “purification” is fucked.. the church killing is mother because his father didn’t want him ugh heartbreaking

Also the church wanting to kill briony because she was to be the head honcho of the church ugh but the love story between these too is
