This was a fun, fast paced sci fi book for juvs. Jack, Becka, and Ari use a lightspeed engine they didn't know their ship had to save their teachers and fellow schoolmates from the brink of "Quarentine" only to land eveyone in an alien prison. It's up to these three to save them. Their plans go well and terrible at the same time. But they do get to use a time machine!

I think middle grade students will find this funny and easy to read. Jack, Ari, and Becka are relatable and likable characters. The villans are mysterious and fun to mistrust. The robots and aliens are super weird and awesome. I'm most likely going to continue with the series, because there is a whole race of people to save from aliens, and I need to know what happens!

Leon's year in school started out well, but when it was discovered that his father had been meddling where he shouldn't have been, he was fired from the school and Leon was left adrift. It's almost the summer holidays and Leon is looking forward to some time away from everyone and their pitying looks.

But during the end of year assembly the school comes under attack. Leon and his friends find a hidden defense mechanism left by his father. When they activate it, they end up far across the galaxy under the 'care' of an alien race. They have to figure out a way to get back to their school-ship and back home, with the fate of the human race resting on their shoulders.

A fun sci-fi adventure story. The tech is nicely explained without being overwhelming and I love this vision of the future where even schools are on ships but some are still better than others. The ending left me eager to find out what happens next. A great read.

This book was just so unbelievably fun! As a lover of Percy Jackson and Star Wars, I felt like this was totally the best book for me! The humour was very reminiscent of Percy Jackson and I was laughing in every single chapter at these three characters that shouldn’t work well together but do! And come on, the hamster🐹!

Seventh Grade vs The Galaxy is a high speed sci-fi that does have some pretty high stakes, considering everyone the characters know from school have been captured and in-prisoned! But, it also manages to be so much fun, it is jam packed with humour and our three main characters are great!

If you are looking for a fun middle grade story with incredible writing, setting and characters, I cannot recommend this one enough and I hope we’re getting a sequel because honestly, that cliffhanger had me so shook.

This was a whole lot of fun. The way it ended was surprising but I like it, it's an interesting way to set up for a sequel. A lot of kids would absolutely love this book.

This is a fast-paced, rollicking romp that follows 7th graders Jack, dodge-ball bully T-Bex (Becka) and Ari through the galaxy on an unexpected jump to light speed, incarceration for a parking ticket and subsequent rescue of all their classmates from jail.

The PSS (Public School Spaceship)-118 normally just orbits Ganymede, but one day is thrust into light-speed and Jack and his two friends encounter the Elvidians and the sinister "Minister," who put the entire human race into "Quarantine" -- and poof! They're gone.

I won't spoil the ending, just know, a sequel is clearly in the works.

A great read, one my 14-year-old loved!

Seventh Grade is the kind of book I can imagine middle grade readers really connecting with. The kids save the day in the end, but not because they are the chosen one, or geniuses. They played to their strengths, and, in the end, it worked out. I see this book appealing to kids 9-12 years old. The cover art is fantastic.
