I felt that there were too many characters and had trouble keeping them all straight.

Some of the book felt rushed and didn’t have the explanation that was needed.

Overall a good book, I enjoyed the themes and the mystery. Loved that the birds came back full circle.

Beautiful and painful - a space murder mystery, but also a reflection on time, relationship, purpose and hope.

This book was really compelling at the beginning, then the middle kind of lagged. I was really wondering what the point of all the flashbacks were, and not all of the flashbacks were really holding my attention. But, by the end, I almost felt silly for doubting the middle. This is a really interesting and unique look at how both individuals and groups/countries could respond to a growing climate crisis— but the individuals take center stage as their extreme circumstances push them into extreme choices.
