Honeythorn is my first read from Marina Vivancos and unfortunately I found it a bit underwhelming. I've heard this described as super angsty and as a lover of angst, I was really looking forward to reading this. While it does have some emotional turmoil, it doesn't last long and overall didn't meet my high-angst expectations. The worldbuilding is sparse and vague, and made up of a strange mix of elements: omegaverse, Regency-inspired pseudo-historical, and also a bit of steampunk because of slightly advanced technology. The writing was mostly fine, but it seemed like the author was trying too hard to give it a Regency flair and as a result the language is stilted, the dialogue doesn't feel natural, and the prose doesn't flow well. I'm still interested in trying more of Vivancos's work, but I think whatever I try next won't be set in this world.
