Mostly this was a book about healing, which is fine if not something that I particularly enjoy. What's not so fine is that they were both pretty miserable until the 50% mark, and I have no desire to read people being lonely and sad and hurt for 150 pages.

Still, I was very willing to give this 2.5-3 stars, because it really was a fine book, but then someone threatens to kill both of them and Milan starts crying and goes along with the evil people plan. And that's alright in theory except that the person who does the threat is just some guy with a pocket knife and zero influence standing across the library from Milan and the whole scene is incredibly stupid because the threat is so non-threatening that I started laughing and then everything gets resolved very fast. I was not here for it, 1.5 stars.

i enjoyed the start of this a lot, the angst was delicious and milan was such a likable character. i liked the development of the relationship, watching as trust and love grew between them. i didn't care for the final conflict though, it just felt kind of pointless.

all in all a good story. i think there were some typos, but aside from that i liked the writing style and would definitely read from this author again

Pure hurt/comfort.
Tropes include: A/B/O verse, arranged marriage and bonds, the main character (Milan) being neglected by his love interest (Raphael) due to a lot of misunderstandings leading to MIlan almost dying from bond neglect.
Bonus points for Milan standing up for himself and being a strong independent character; we admire all kinds of trauma representation and whump here, but it's refreshing (and all the more painfully wonderful) to see that strong spirit gradually get broken down)
