Delinquent boy and good girl? yes please
First I want to point out that the artstyle is gorgeous!
This was a super cute and fun read, I loved the dynamic between the two main characters. I found the story was quite fast paced which I didn't mind and I already am attached to the main characters. The heroine is fairly reserved and closed off but seems to long for connection, while the hero is an outgoing delinquent with a heart of gold. I can't wait for more from this series!
Thank you to Netgalley and Kodansha for sending me a copy in exchange for an honest review.

"You don't need a frickin' handkerchief for moments like these! You need a sleeve - made of good boyfriend mateiral!" I love Zen.
This was so cute. I loved Zen and Risa's romance. Usually, for a lot of manga, it takes the main couple 35 chapters for them to kiss, so for them to do so in the first volume, is a green flag. Love the characters, love the plot, and I'm excited for volume 2.

I devoured this!
Loved the romance and the art was beautiful.
It was so fun to read and had a few laugh out loud moments.
Overall it was just super cute, I loved the dynamic between Risa and Zen, and I'm so excited for Volume 2!

i struggled a bit with this reading. i'm not really a fan of this kind of trope, but since i like to try all kinds of things that wasn't the problem. i did have a hard time finding the main characters appealing and it made me drop out of the story at several points. i just couldn't find their relationship cute and i found that their personalities didn't fit very well together.
however, i'm sure that this manga will please many and that it will have no trouble finding its audience.

The art is pretty but I think I’m getting romantic high-school genre fatigue since they might as well be copy and paste like the isekai genre….

I liked this manga, it was a little bit confusing in some parts but overall I really liked the story and would read the next volume.

"Love That's an Understatement" by Fujimomo follows cinnamon roll delinquent Zen and Risa who has difficulty relying on anyone after helping each other develop a system of owing favors to each other.
I would give "Love That's an Understatement" by Fujimomo a 5-star review because, I really enjoyed everything about this manga, I loved the dynamics between Zen and Risa, I really felt like I could connect with the MC Risa, it's really a cute and adorable story I just wish there were physical editions of this manga.

I am already not so patiently awaiting the next volume of this manga. First of all, the art is beautiful and character designs are for the most part unique. This volume is quick to endear you to the main cast of characters. I am already obsessed with Zen's friends. I love the characterization of Risa. She's incredibly relatable. As someone who tends to be toxically independent, it's beautiful to watch someone see it in it's entirety. The budding romance between the main couple is so sweet and makes your heart flutter. I can't wait to see how they will develop from here.

This was super cute!
Risa and Zen are super compatible, and I felt like we got a decent look into why Risa is the way she is. I can't wait to find out more about her and Zen's backgrounds!
The story had good pacing. I felt like a lot happened, but nothing felt rushed or forced.
All of the artwork is stunning!
I'm already really excited for volume 2!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
