I thought no man could be as obsessed as Aaron Warner but Kai might be at least tied with him. That man was OBSESSED without having any reason... Also the banter: Scrumdilyumptious

Ehhhh, felt like a conglomeration of every romantasy book I’ve read in the past 2 years + hunger games. It felt clunky and I didn’t love the main character, and all the characters were just kinda flat. Also made worse by the fact that I didn’t love the narration.

I really struggled with the first 300 pages or so. It could have been the mood I was in but I wasn’t always looking forward to reading it but once I started it I enjoyed what I was reading. I found the story to be so similar to others I had read before and it felt like there wasn’t enough originality for me. The last 100 pages or so really saved this book for me. I really enjoyed how it all came together and how it ended even if there was some sad parts but it ended with a thrill and I liked the secret organisation aspect of it. The ending was enough to make me want to continue the series for now.
