this book was at least 100 pages longer than it needed to be and was so slow. it just kept repeating itself. The main draw was the trials and the only part that were interesting were the dancing in the first and the end off the third. other then that the book was lacking something overall. the banter between the two was good.

From a quality standpoint, this book has its flaws with pacing, flow, and world building, hence why the four star review instead of five. From an enjoyment standpoint, I would give it a five. There are certainly moments where I could tell tropes we’re thrown in just for the sake of it, but I ate them up every single time regardless of whether or not they were appropriate for the scene.

This book is definitely a binge read that I finished in less than two days. I devoured it and was able to get lost in the story and visualize it clearly. I will say, however, that some of the conflicts felt like they were resolved way too quickly. More tension, angst, or sub-plot conflict would have made the book even more compelling to read.
