Terrific. Incredible. Inspirational.
I read Shauna's second book - Bittersweet - before I knew about this one so was excited to find another one by her. She has a delicate way of being honest and authentic while at the same time being hopeful. Overall, it's a great read.

3.5 stars to be more exact. This book was good. There were pieces that really resonated with my soul and that I mentally was saying "YES that's exactly what it is!" But then there were other pieces that I really felt disconnected from. I think Shauna's and my journey has just been very different - and she wrote the majority of this book prior to having kids. The world changes when you have kids and it's harder to look back on the pre-kid struggles. However, in the last 25% of the book, I really reconnected with her again. The last two or three chapters were my favorite of them all. I think I will try Bread and Wine by her next - she's older and deeper into the mommy thing by that book and so maybe we will connect more.

I love Shauna Niequist. I really do. But this isn't my favorite thing of hers. She has really come into her own over the past few years, ado this book from 10 years ago feels a bit underdeveloped and more like a collection of blog posts. I still love her, but wild recommend choosing something else to read by her if you're just getting on the Niequist train.

A wonderful, moving, insightful book that brought me to major tears more than once. I eventually stopped highlighting things and just put stars next to chapter titles!

I flew through these short stories. Super enjoyable and quick read, but feels like a similar message I have heard before.

This had been on my to-read list for ages, and I'm so glad I finally read it. I highly recommend the audio book version, read by the author. The subtitle is "celebrating the extraordinary nature of everyday life," and that is certainly true. Shauna does more than celebrate her own everyday life, she inspires the reader to do the same. I look forward to reading more books by the author.
