First books often are like many firsts…. they rarely go as expected. This is an erotic romance, and the love scenes are plentiful. While reading one such scene, I had to make sure the author was in fact a woman. While most of the love scenes were hot and well written, a couple felt a bit off.

Perhaps I am getting old but these characters came off childish and very immature. I didn’t buy it that Vivian could be president of a corporation, and think that Rose was an awesome find in a partner. The entire book felt a bit like 1st year college material to me. The book did make me laugh out loud a few times so well done there. These few laughs were not enough to make me overlook the fact that Rose was acting like an immature brat for 90% of the book. Super fast read though. ARC provided by YLVA publishing for honest review.

First, I want to say that I've read this as a fanfiction awhile ago. The author did a great job getting rid of the details that were not original. It's almost like reading a different story from the fanfiction version.

The characters are developed enough to follow the story and I can tell what each of their personality is. However, I wish there's more details about their back story. I wonder about Vivian's life experience being on her own at such a young age and how that impact her in present time. As for Rose, she lives with mother with no other family relatives in the picture. Has it always been that way? Was there a big family drama that cause them to live by themselves? Details like those will help us understand the characters better and their motives, how they view the world, etc.

The storyline is very simple and straightforward. Rose gave a sex toy as a prank gift to her boss at Christmas party and that lead to them working together and fall in love/lust with some corporate drama mixed in. Oh yeah, there's also plenty of sex scenes. I mean plenty! Writing sex scenes clearly is the author's strength. There's variety and the description is well written.

Overall, it's a good smutty novel with a lot of humor.

This book was surprisingly funny. The fact that Rose ends up giving her boss a gag gift (and seemingly doesn't care about losing her job) is hard to imagine because who does that? But I did like seeing the dynamic between Rose and Vivian, aka boss lady, change throughout their trip to New York. The NY part, specifically the scenes featuring the CEO of the corporation and his son, who Vivian wants Rose to snoop for possible embezzlement, were by far my favorite parts of this book. I found the sex scenes good at first but there's so many of them. Too much for my liking. Overall an easy, enjoyable read (especially if you like lots of sexy times in your romance books).
