This is such a unique book definitely not what I was expecting but it was done really well.

4 not 5 stars because at the start I was a lot more interested in the human chapters than the spider chapters but that gradually balanced out as it went on and I got very into the spider world and how they were evolving.

It is pretty in hard sci-fi/science heavy so definitely not for everyone but the whole evolutionary world building was super interesting to read and I've never seen any story set-out like this before.

This is an odd one. There is no like-able protagonist, but there is still something oddly genius about the story.

This book is amazing! It defied my expectations every step of the way and was so cleverly built. The juxtaposition of the inhabitants of the green planet and their evolutions, problems, monumental moments in history and the few days in-between the human protagonist is awake is exquisite. It was mayhaps a bit annoying to end on a cliffhanger and have to "slog through" a not-as-interesting chapter, but mostly, both POVs were interesting enough to be glad to be able to go back to them.
