Ok. I read both of these short novels in one day. Ana's story is beautiful. Liam's story is good, but it feels like it really doesn't belong with the other donovan books. It almost feels like an afterthought. Taking that into account, though, it was still a good story, if a little slow.

The first book, Charmed, was an easy read. Nothing great, just sort of a fluffy read. I didn't really fall in love with any of the characters, or care for the story all that much. Enchanted hard...I had to force myself to finish it for the sake of saying I finished the book. It was boring and I found both main characters lacking. Liam was just kind of a jerk and I hated how he kept referencing stuff he knew was going to happen in the future. He just really was not likable at all!

I think this is only the second (maybe 3rd, I can't remember) book by Nora Roberts that I've read and I have to wonder why she is as popular as she is...I haven't liked anything I've read thus far. She seems to deal in cliche's and attempts at beautiful poetry and just falls flat overall.

meeehhhh. the women were wonderful, well-written, intelligent, and talented but the men were so bleh. couldn't get over how weirdly aggressive they were and how that never seemed to bother the women. was an interesting introduction to the donovan legacy, however!

Only reason this gets the additional star is because the first book in this series wasn’t bad. I’m not usually a single dad finds new love kind of reader, but it had, dare I say, charm to it. There were some things that I didn’t enjoy, but I don’t regret reading it.

The second book? Absolutely not. Not my jam. I resonated with Rowan a lot and wanted to like her, but Liam? Absolutely not. Literally skipped about 100 pages to the end and figured out the entire plot there and was wholly dissatisfied.

Will I be reading more Nora Roberts in the future? Unclear. The public library here is small, and it depends on how desperate I get.

love this whole series so much i can't pick which one i love more so they're all equal!
Each of the Donovan stories while filled with magic is also filled with realities of love, includign the ups and downs, but the magic just makes it better along witht he riveting characters.
For anyone highschool or older who enjoys a little bit of magic, humor, drama and romance I suggest you check out every book of this series. You won't be sorry...jsut don't expect to pick a favorite

I'm not used to plain vanilla romance and I usually stick with more fantasy books, but this was refreshing and has the best writing I have ever seen in a book before.
