Finished. And it has ended the summer on a good, warm note. This book was so much fun, it also tugged at some heart-strings here and there, but some books do.

The plot had potential but it was let down by poor writing, a lack of editing, too many cliches and just a whole lot of stuff that didn't work (Like in what would would a 17 year old school boy be "best friends" with an almost 30 year old women?!). All the "twists" were utterly predictable, the slapstick was way OTT and the main characters were both pretty awful. *Spoiler alert* both female leads extensively cheated on their male partners, and it was deemed to be okay and that they should both be forgiven?? Not sure if there was meant to be a feminism angle to the cheating plot but it just highlighted the utter self absorption of the characters. Give it a miss!!

Frankie Rose is in a bit of a relationship rut. She is a bit lost for ideas as to how she can rectify this. But she comes up with a plan. She starts to plant her favourite books on trains, trams and buses in the hope that she will find her perfect man that way.

Meanwhile a YA loving man comes into the bookshop where she works and she is not sure whether to date him or not. As she isn't into YA books and can't see how it will work.

The Book Ninja is a delightful book. Definitely one of my favourite reads of 2018.

After seeing so many 3 star reviews I thought I was in for an ok book. Instead a found a sweet, little gem of a book. The Book Ninja is a sweet little rom com filled with laugh out  moments while Frankie tries to navigate the relationships in her life. I would love to see this one turned into a movie.
