I got sick and wasn't able to finish the book before I had to return it to the library. I'm currently on hold waiting for another copy to borrow.

I understand that this is a memoir so I understand it is the author's right to write it however they please but my goodness...
My biggest struggle with this book is how reductive it is and how easily men are let off the hook for abuse because she didn't know she was being abused. Autism didn't gaslight her, men did. And I know she makes the true point that people on the spectrum are more prone to being abused, which is true; but her text does not back that up. They are let off the hook so repeatedly.
Additionally, for someone who calls herself a feminist she struggles to understand the privilege her looks grant her (where was the editor on this one)... And worst of all she completely co-opts Sojourner Truth's speech about the humanity is Black women for herself and in the audiobook does an accent. Why didn't anyone stop her from doing digital/verbal Black face. So much yikes.
