God this book was just utter shit, what was the reason of this book because I have fail seen in reason it is. I just hated it, there was nothing likeable about this book and also was a supposed to want these characters to be okay because I just fucking hated them all and there is nothing redeemable about any of them and some of the reasons why they were even on the island was just so fucking dumb compare to others like tell me why you thought hiding the fact that you are gay and being an actually rapist and being responsible for a girl suicide is on the same level because it just fucking not....

Like I just don't get why or what the point of this book and also the pacing was awful and shocking it took so long to get to the point like so so wrong. The vibe was just so and mean so jarring like there was just some funny moments but I just didn't get what genre this book was trying and failing to be like is this a horror/paranormal story line or it is a mystery/thriller. I am not really sure what is happening. Are was just so confusing to be like one minute I thought this book was going to be slasher book like Scream or You're Next and then there was just some weird ghost plot line that wasn't even explained like what was the point and why did the ghost want them and what was the whole message of this book... Girl I am just so fucking confused and quite frankly I just wanted to finish to book so I could log it on Goodreads because this book just put me in a bad mood. Also imagine dying in a fucking panda costume. Actually I am just so over this book that I don't even what to write the review anymore.
"Chapter Thirty One
'All she had was herself. Ava hoped on the ghosts of her friends that she could be enough."

Thanks to Edelweiss for the ARC. The opinions expressed herein are mine alone and may not reflect the views of the author, publisher, or distributor.

I didn't expect much going into GOOD GIRLS DIE FIRST, and really, the biggest question I came away with was: how come no one got hungry?

We follow Ava and nine other teenagers she knows from her school as they all converge on a haunted island that once housed a working carnival. The catch? None of them knew the others were showing up, and all of them have secrets they'd kill to keep. A dark force on the island is hungrier than it's been in millennia, and by the end of the night, only one can stay standing.

That's the premise. It's pretty linear, so you can guess what'll happen going in. I want to clarify that I didn't have low expectations in that I thought this book would suck, because it didn't. It was exactly what I thought it would be: entertainment a la 1980's teen horror flicks. I probably would have been more disappointed if I hadn't been on a recent movie binge with my mom and oldest brother in that exact genre. Honestly, I'm surprised it wasn't bloodier.

Every character is their stereotype, and yes, a couple of the secrets were easily guessed. But honestly, I did want to know what happened next whenever I put the book down. Don't go in expecting to be wowed by twists and turns, but do go in expecting an easy romp to take your mind off things. Really enjoyed this for what it was, and I appreciated that it didn't try to be *deep* or whatever.
