This was a raw and emotional memoir and I thought it was incredibly well-written.

A touching memoir about a family's silence in the face of double suicides and countless instances of parental mental illness, this was a heartbreaking story. While this was a fast and entertaining read, I had a hard time with each chapter ending with "But little did we know....the pain that was to come. How hard it would get. What would happen to my brother next." It read like a pulp novel because of this inclination to entice for the next chapter. Kissinger herself is an incredible person; a lauded journalist, an ally for mental illness and a compassionate family member. Her story is worth the read. The dangers of silence are more than any family can bear.
