"The narrator of The Zahir is a bestselling novelist who lives in Paris and enjoys all the privileges money and celebrity bring. His wife of ten years, Esther, is a war correspondent who has disappeared along with a friend, Mikhail, who may or may not be her lover.
Was Esther kidnapped, murdered, or did she simply escape a marriage that left her unfulfilled? The narrator doesn't have any answers, but he has plenty of questions of his own. Then one day Mikhail finds the narrator and promises to reunite him with his wife. In his attempt to recapture a lost love, the narrator discovers something unexpected about himself." (From Amazon)
A haunting love story.

A haunting love story.
I enjoyed it very much. It's really an inspirational novel!!
I think I'll end up being like Esther, this woman whom I'm in love with. Although she didn't appear till the final pages, but she was there in every single detail !
Al Zahir is absolutely a great choice for everyone who is looking for inspiration and change.

I don't think philosophical books are for me. Maybe when I'm a little older, I'll try this book again and maybe I'll understand. But I have to DNF it for now.
slow-paced
I really loved the message of this book. I did read it all in a 24-hour period. Having said that, I felt that periodically, the message was forced into philosophical words that seemed out of place in the story. Almost like the author was trying too hard to make the philosophical point. Entirely unnecessary, given the skill of the writer. I did enjoy this book, but can't shake the feeling some of this felt very forced.
I love this book so much. It is a good book to read

Egy jó könyv volt. Hangoskönyvben hallgattam és kellemes volt hallgatni. Jók voltak a szereplők. Egyszerű kis történet. Jó lehet azoknak akik szeretnének kimászni egy reading slumpból.
